Lessons and life updates : Inside my cocoon

A Monday soul letter to set you up for the week.

My dear %name%,

How are you doingggg?!

I hope this finds you in the best of spirits! ðŸŒŸ

(and if not, I’m glad it found you where you are)

So, I took that break I mentioned, and oh how I needed it! Grateful for the downtime, and I've got a bag full of stories from this rollercoaster called life to share with you.

Grab your favorite drink because we've got a lot to catch up on, lol!

First off, we just wrapped up the 'Deeper with YBB' wellness retreat. If the "Deeper" webinars brought you aha moments, the live event was the cherry on top--an immersive experience that was, hands down, the best decision I could have made at this time.

Picture good vibes, self-introspection, self-discovery, a generous sprinkle of laughter, and deep relaxation. It was a much-needed reset button in the midst of life's hustle.

Lessons learned? Well, centeredness isn't a myth, and self-care is a non-negotiable.

On the home front, my babies are fast becoming young adults, and our conversations are evolving. Guiding them through today's world requires vulnerability, sincerity, and instilling qualities like integrity, authenticity, and grace.

I sense there’s a chance for us to connect here so send me your thoughts and concerns especially if you’re raising older teenagers.

Work's been a ride too. Steering the ship as an Executive Director at Finchglow Holdings is both thrilling and challenging. But you know me--I'm always up for an adventure.

Speaking of adventures, I'm cooking up something special! ðŸš€

To be honest, multiple things. A video course on personal power and authenticity--a roadmap to navigating life's twists and turns. Plus, a closed mentoring community for women. Whoop!

Now, enough about me--what's been happening with you? What challenges are you facing? Where do you need guidance?

Life may be tossing curveballs, but it's also gifting incredible lessons--resilience, rest, and staying true to self, top that list.

How can you activate them?

For me, the word that resonates is "cocoon."

A cocoon is a protective envelope that insect larvae use to develop into their pupal stage.  (Offering protection and facilitating transformation)

Two things to consider:

-Protection from predators

Did you know that insects that create cocoons are not pests but rather are valuable contributors to helping control populations of other pests?

The challenge is not the troubles you may face.

It is that you have not formed a cocoon to protect yourself in them such that you create a neural pathway that serves you when and if a similar situation arises.

If you are a person of value, it is essential for you to consciously shield yourself from manipulation and exploitation by both people and circumstances.

You are not your mistakes.  But embrace the lessons you receive from them so that they do not define you.

Build healthy boundaries in your life and relationships, recognizing your worth by not settling for less than you deserve.

%Name% , genuinely take care of yourself and don’t just pay lip service to self-preservation

-Mortality from hostile weather

The correct humidity and temperature within the cocoon enable the larva to transform into its adult stage.

The economies of the world are falling apart and we’re back here again.

Your personal space -  ‘invironment’ and environment.

It’s a great thing to separate yourself for reflection or protection in an age of hyper-information but, loneliness is harmful to your physical and mental health.

Challenge yourself to explore new ideas and perspectives. It becomes difficult to do that when you don’t honor your existing neural pathways. Create an environment that nurtures your unique way of thinking.

When you need help, admit that you do and seek it.

Solitude is not the same as isolation.

If you reach out, help will come to you.

When we experience unexpected twists and turns, they are not mere disruptions; they are the universe's way of nudging us toward growth and wisdom

Let's make this more than a catch-up; respond  with your thoughts, questions, or just a virtual high-five.

I’m grateful that this space exists between us.

I look forward to reading from you.
